Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to late capitalism a survival guide ethics. I hope you find it interesting and enlightening. you know, how does this cycle back to philosophy? Why do I feel that this is such a fundamental question that we're facing and is so important to our society? I mean, [clears throat] sure, undermining the pleasure of music is a problem.

Impoverishing people is a problem. Changing the economy without people being aware of it, you know, this these are all problems, but how do they relate back to the big philosophical questions that I'm I'm most interested in? And why is it worth spending so much time on this question? And this I want to ask at this juncture because I can just keep going on with examples forever.

But I think it's good to revisit the prime question that I'm trying to explore here before we switch into broadening out from late capitalism again which I will be doing in the subsequent um upcoming issues when I look at things like government and global [clears throat] financial systems and all of this. But the core issue or a core issue for me the core issue but there are others that other people could focus on. But for me the core issue is what I feel and see and research suggests very strongly has happened like the elimination of history and [clears throat] attacking fundamental relations that humans have had. Late capitalism undermines [clears throat] completely our sense of ethics.

And what I mean by this is we have almost no means anymore to interpret, express, and explore our own personal values or social values. Right? There's always a a mix there, an interaction without the mediation of financial questions, without the mediation of late capitalist worldview. And this is so pervasive.
